Price: $199 (was $359) — as of November 4, 2026. Other colors $219.
Bose’s newest noise-cancelling headphones launched in August at $359, and they just hit their first big sale — $199 is the lowest price they’ve ever seen. The deal is part of Amazon’s early Black Friday doorbusters, and it applies to the Hazelnut Taupe, Eucalyptus Green, and Dewdrop Mint colorways; the remaining colors are $219 (still 39% off). Bose’s own site shows the same $199 price with the offer running through November 8.
Why it’s worth a look
Reviewers had one real complaint about these headphones at launch: the price. TechRadar called them “great, pricey,” awarding 5/5 for sound while dinging value. At $199, that complaint largely disappears.
Tom’s Guide put the 2nd Gen through direct flight testing against the Sony WH-1000XM6 and the Apple AirPods Max 2 — and the Bose came out on top for noise cancellation, described as “noticeably stronger at blocking environmental noise” than both. EFTM scored them 85/100, calling them better than the previous generation, and RecordingNow called the fit “arguably the most comfortable headphone” it has tested.
The upgrades over the 2023 model are meaningful for desk workers and travelers: Immersive Audio with head-tracked spatial sound (plus a Cinema Mode for video), lossless 24-bit/48 kHz audio over a wired USB-C connection — a real upgrade for laptop Zoom calls and hi-res streaming — and Bluetooth 5.4 with multipoint. Six microphones handle ANC plus clearer call quality, and the redesigned oval earcups and padded headband are built for long sessions.
The honest caveats
No headphone is perfect, and reviewers flagged the same omissions: there’s no wear detection, so the headphones won’t auto-pause when you lift them off (Tom’s Guide called this “a major downside for travelers”). Battery life is a rated 24 hours with ANC — decent but not class-leading — and drops to 18 hours with Immersive Audio on. Wireless codecs top out at SBC/AAC, with no LDAC support, and there’s no IP water-resistance rating.
Who it’s for
Commuters, frequent flyers, and office workers who want top-tier noise cancellation and all-day comfort at a price that finally makes sense. The 2nd Gen’s USB-C lossless audio and improved call filtering make it a particularly good pick for anyone doing a lot of video calls from a laptop.
Bottom line: At $199, you’re getting flagship-class ANC and comfort for $160 off launch. If you’ve been waiting for a Black Friday deal on current-generation Bose noise-cancelling headphones, this is it.
